Visited the park and was disappointed in how most of the animals looked. The giraffes and goats hooves were HORRIBLE and the enclosures didn't look like upkeep was being done. The ponies they were using for pony rides were heavily breathing because of the heat and we're made to stand tied for hours and I noticed one didn't have any water! I saw the caretaker and she was sitting in the shade, talking on her phone. I told her the water was empty and she just laughed and said "yeah, he knocks it over." Well, figure something else out then!! Tie a bucket up or something. DO NOT JUST NOT GIVE THEM WATER!!
Took my kids there (8 and 10). They had a blast! Can't wait to go again! Only con is that the animals did not look in the greatest shape. I really hope that they look better next time we go. Other than that, the staff was really friendly.
Awesome place. Not at all like a big city zoo. And I'm not an animal person (2 of my kids are). When you first drive in you can feed all kinds of animals from your car. Then when you park and enter the pavilion area there are dear running around with you (they beg for food). You can walk to different areas and see different animals in fenced areas closer to the pavilions. Then there is a tram ride and you see all manner of animals who come up to the tram that you can feed. On the tram ride you realize the place is much bigger than you expected and has many more animals than you expected. And there are pony rides.
It's a good one-time experience especially for the kids. Priced on the higher side considering the limited selection of animals they have. It's more of a backyard zoo. The staff was very friendly and that made it a pleasant experience. I'd go back probably once a year or so; not more frequent than that.
This is a great place. I took my family of four there to spend a Saturday afternoon and the kids loved it. You pay one price to get in and everything else is included (except for the animal food). The tram ride was pretty neat and you can get up close to a lot of interesting animals.
The staff was nice and the tram ride was fun. We did get to stop and feed some of the animals. But the overall health of the animals is a concern. The amount of money they rake in every year doesn't seem to be going to help the animals or the upkeep of the fences, etc.
